Best Time to Book Your Studio Newborn Photography Session in Tillsonburg (and Beyond)

Welcoming a newborn into your life is one of the most beautiful, fleeting moments you’ll ever experience. Those early days—full of soft sighs, curled-up toes, and sleepy snuggles—pass by in the blink of an eye. Capturing that magic through a studio newborn session allows you to relive it again and again.

At Simply Said Photography, I specialize in natural, timeless newborn portraits taken in my cozy studio in Tillsonburg, Ontario. I’ve had the joy of photographing families from Tillsonburg, London, Woodstock, and surrounding communities—each with their own story, but all with the same desire: to preserve these tiny, irreplaceable moments.

When Is the Best Time to Book a Newborn Photographer?

The best time to book newborn photography is actually before your baby arrives—ideally during your second trimester. This helps secure a spot in the busy weeks following your due date, ensuring that we can capture your baby during that perfect window: between 5 to 14 days old.

Why so early? Because this stage is when babies are sleepiest and most curled up—perfect for those gentle, snuggly poses you’ve seen in studio galleries. Booking early also allows us to plan around your preferences, whether it’s color tones, props, or just making sure your session is as stress-free as possible.

Why the First 5–14 Days Are Ideal for Studio Sessions

Newborns change so quickly. In just a few short weeks, they’ll stretch out, become more alert, and lose some of that dreamy, just-born look. That’s why most professional newborn photographers—including myself—recommend capturing them within their first two weeks of life.

In this window, babies are more likely to sleep deeply and be comfortable in the warm, womb-like environment of my studio. The gentle posing, natural light, and cozy textures all help create those timeless portraits Simply Said Photography is known for.

But don’t worry—nothing is forced. My approach is baby-led and calm. If your baby needs to feed, cuddle, or take a break, we go with the flow. Every session is unique, just like every baby.

What If My Baby Is Already Born?

Life doesn’t always follow a calendar, and that’s okay. If your little one has already arrived and you haven’t booked your session yet—don’t panic!

While the first two weeks are ideal, we can still create beautiful images beyond that window. I take a flexible, personalized approach to every studio newborn session, and I’ve worked with older newborns to capture equally meaningful moments. Just reach out as soon as you can, and we’ll do our best to fit you in.
